How long do you have to use a LL pass within your time scheduled? Also, how long is the average wait in LL line?

    Hi there, Kelle!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you found our magical crew of Walt Disney World Guests eager to assist with all aspects of vacation planning. Let's talk about using Lightning Lane Passes during your visit.

Lightning Lane return windows are one hour long. When you make reservations, you'll see the entry time listed under each selected experience. Typically, you can tap into an attraction five to ten minutes after your return window ends, but it's best to be on time to guarantee entry.

Lightning Lane wait times vary by attraction, but you'll always have a shorter wait than in the standby queue. I usually expect to wait 15 minutes or fewer when using a Lightning Lane entry, and it can take even less time for rides without a pre-show or extensive queue. I've boarded rides like Spaceship Earth and Expedition Everest almost immediately after entering the queue. Due to the nature of the queuing areas and length of pre-shows, I always plan to spend extra time in line for Soarin' Around the World, Avatar Flight of Passage, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™, even when using a Lightning Lane entry.

I hope this is helpful and you have a fantastic time on your upcoming adventure. Since you'll be traveling during the most festive time of year, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog and our Instagram account for details and updates to this season's holiday offerings. Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and have a magical day!
