    How long will they hold an advance dining reservation – if for some reason you show up 15 minutes late will the Disney restaurant turn you away? I have a 2 and 4 year old and sometimes things happen that we are not always punctual.

    I can relate to traveling with little ones.  I have found myself running a little late more than once.

    You are actual asked to show up at the podium 15 minutes before your reservation.  If your family often runs late, you may want to aim at being there 25 minutes before hand to give yourself a buffer.

    I believe it depends on the restaurants, but in most situations your reservations are released 15-20 minutes after your scheduled time.  If you show up after that you will have to wait standby.  When you wait standby you get the next available table, but are trumped by anyone who comes in after you who has a reservation. 

    If 100% of the families with reservations show up, you could wait all night.  It is best to just show up on time even if it means leaving a park a little early or skipping that one last ride.
