Hi Leslie,
You should have plenty of time to sleep in at the lovely
Grand Floridian Resort and still make it to your breakfast at Animal Kingdom on time. The buses from your resort to
Animal Kingdom run about every 20 minutes, and it's about a 20 minute ride to reach the theme park.
I always like to allow at least an hour for travel time, just to be sure I don't arrive at my meal feeling stressed and rushed. You also will want to allow time to pass through security and get to the restaurant. (
Rainforest Cafe is outside the park, but the rest of the Animal Kingdom dining is inside the entrance points.)
You didn't say where you are eating, but I'm guessing it might be the character breakfast at
Tusker House. I wouldn't expect that to take more than an hour, and it is near
Kilimanjaro Safaris. If you have time between your meal and safari, I'd recommend exploring the adjacent
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. I can spend hours watching the gorillas, especially if the young ones are feeling frisky and playing together.
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Leslie. Please let us know if you have any other questions related to planning your Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy!
