Hey, Pamela!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! This is one of my favorite exercises to do...plan the day. You have to take into account travel time between attractions.
I don't love running from one side of a theme park to another so I typically complete attractions by "land." Make no mistake you could easily put 8-10 miles on your tennis shoes walking around. It’s great exercise and there is so much to see. The time it takes to walk will depend on crowds and the pace of the Guests in your party. One Park:One Day is the perfect plan.
In Magic Kingdom Park, I budget 5 minutes of walking time within a "land" between attractions and 10-12 minutes between "lands". For example, if I'm going from Peter Pan's Flight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, I would budget 5 minutes to walk even though it takes less time. If I'm going from Jungle Cruise in Adventureland to Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, I would budget 12 minutes. I maintain this schedule at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Epcot's Future World is so spread out. We typically allow 10 minutes when walking from East to West Future World and about allow 60-90 minutes to walk the World Showcase. The World Showcase is magnificent and transports you to 11 regions across the globe.
Disney Dad Tip: Remember, there is magic around every turn so rushing around means you will miss something like the peanuts embedded in the ground at Fantasyland's Storybook Circus or the spitting camels of Agrabah near Magic Carpets of Aladdin. You will have a blast at
Awaken Summer at Walt Disney World Resort.
I hope this helps you plan a fantastic trip in June.
Pamela, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
