Hi Chris!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question - I'm happy to help.
Using
Water Transportation from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to
Magic Kingdom Park is a scenic and fun way to start your day at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
The ferries typically begin operating 30 minutes before park opening and will operate until 1.5 hours after park closing, including
Extended Evening Hours. Each ferryboat can hold up to 600 guests.
When the ferry is docked and ready for passengers, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes to load passengers and depart from the TTC. The ride itself takes approximately 10 minutes, offering lovely views of the
Seven Seas Lagoon. My favorite place to ride is on the front of the ferry, facing Magic Kingdom – I just love watching the castle come into view as we make our way toward the entrance. It’s a magical moment! Once the ferry arrives and is safely docked and secured at Magic Kingdom, it takes another 5-10 minutes to unload passengers.
In total, you should plan for about 25-35 minutes from the time you board the ferry at the TTC until you arrive at the entrance of Magic Kingdom Park.
Please note that depending on the time of day and crowd levels, there may be a wait for the next available ferry. During peak times, such as park opening and closing, the wait times for the ferry are typically a bit longer. If the ferry wait times are unusually long, consider using the
Walt Disney World Monorail as an alternative!
I typically eyeball the lines for both the Monorail and the ferry when I arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center. If the ferry is already docked, and the line isn’t too long, I’ll usually opt for the scenic, more leisurely ferry ride! My family likes to utilize all the complimentary transportation options available on our Walt Disney World Resort vacations. Whether by bus, boat, monorail, or Disney Skyliner, the journey always ends at a magical destination!
Enjoy your visit to Magic Kingdom Park!
