    About how long is the ferry ride from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney?

    My family vacationed at Port Orleans Riverside last week. The total journey aboard the ferryboat from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney took 24 minutes.

    On a Saturday evening, we took the yellow flag boat down the Sassagoula River headed to Downtown Disney. We arrived at the dock just as a boat was departing. The next boat arrived 7 minutes later. We boarded the Memphis Miss at 6:47 p.m.

    This ride is very relaxing. I love hearing the music playing from Riverside and the clip clop of the horses pulling carriages around the Riverside Resort as we sail down the river.

    Six minutes later we were docking at Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ). We were at POFQ for 3 minutes while passengers boarded the boat. The journey down the Sassagoula takes passengers by the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs. We were docked at the Marketplace by 7:11 p.m.

    If you want a boat ride to Downtown Disney's West Side or Pleasure Island, you'll need to transfer at Disney's Marketplace to a red flag boat. The red flag boat sails the route between the Marketplace, West Side and Pleasure Island areas of Downtown Disney.

    Upon returning to Port Orleans Riverside, you'll want to board a yellow flag boat. We were told the last boat was at 11:30 p.m. If you miss the boat, take a bus!

    Tip: Dress warm in cold weather as you'll be exposed to the elements while aboard the boat.

    The return trip took exactly 20 minutes from Disney's Marketplace including a stop at Port Orleans French Quarter before docking at Riverside.
