How long is the entire experience at Savi's light saber? I have a 10AM reservation for my children, and am trying to organize a lunch reservation for afterwards.

Bright suns, Angela, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sense the Force is strong with you and your upcoming journey to a galaxy far, far away, so let’s start planning!

I can’t wait for you to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort! My family loves exploring Batuu – you truly get to live out your own Star Wars story! In fact, building a lightsaber is one of my all-time favorite experiences at the Disneyland Resort! My son saved his birthday money and built a legendary lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers last November. What an amazing day that was! I’d recommend setting aside between 20-30 minutes for your reservation at Savi’s Workshop. So, if your reservation is at 10:00 AM, I’d recommend booking your lunch reservation for 10:45 AM or 11:00 AM at the earliest, depending on how far you have to walk to get to your dining destination.

So, here’s how it works: The process begins when you meet with one of Savi’s Gatherers outside of the Workshop, no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your reservation time. Afterward, you’ll choose between one of four hilt themes, including Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Then, it’s time to select the heart of your lightsaber, known as the kyber crystal, and assemble the hilt. The Gatherers will then connect the hilt to the lightsaber blade, and then it will be time to activate! It’s such a magical experience as you and your children become one with the Force! Just keep in mind that the experience area is limited to the builder and two Guests.

While visiting Batuu, I recommend heading to the Milk Stand to sample some refreshing Blue or Green Milk. You can even mix the two flavors together for a special treat! To save time, I recommend mobile ordering your beverages on the Disneyland app. My family also enjoys visiting Batuu’s local watering hole, Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Resort. It’s just a few steps away from Savi’s Workshop. My family loves sipping on our favorite exotic concoctions while listening to DJ R-3X mix up some beats!

Wishing you a safe galactic journey, Angela. As they say in Batuu, ’til the spire!
