Bright suns, Karen! I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel before traveling on to the planet Batuu.
Yesterday turned out to be a day of galactic proportions for guests planning a visit to Black Spire Outpost. Yesterday, guests could begin making
reservations for several highly anticipated experiences at Walt Disney World Resort's
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I have a trip coming up in September, and I was so excited to hear that my friend booked us a reservation for drinks at
Oga's Cantina. As of next week, I will be 180 days away from my next family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. I am hoping to make reservations for
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers so that my young Padawans can build their own lightsabers.
It sounds like the Force was with you, Karen, since you were able to secure a reservation to build your own astromech droid at
Droid Depot. I spoke with my friends,
Kristin and
Tony, about the droid building experience. Kristin and Tony are two of our Disneyland Resort experts on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and both of them have had the opportunity to visit Disneyland's Droid Depot with their families. They told me that you should plan on spending around 20-30 minutes building your droid.
Karen, did you know that for an additional fee, you can purchase a personality chip for your droid? By purchasing a personality chip, you can choose whether your droid will show allegiance to the First Order or if it will support the Resistance. Your droid will be the perfect traveling companion as you explore Black Spire Outpost; it will even interact with the land during your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Before you travel to a galaxy far, far away, be sure to download you
Star Wars: Datapad on the Play Disney Parks mobile app. This is yet another way to interact with this incredibly immersive new land. I hope you enjoy living out your very own Star Wars adventure at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
'Til the Spires,
Samantha
