How long does it take to get from downtown disney to the magic kingdom?

    Hi Allison,

There are no buses that go directly from Downtown Disney to the Magic Kingdom.  You have to travel to a resort first and then transfer to a bus headed to Magic Kingdom.  For this reason, the time can vary.  I would say, you're probably looking at 45 - 60 minutes of travel.

Intuitively, I would take the bus heading to the Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Contemporary and then hop on the monorail from one of those resorts. However, I've heard that taking the bus to Saratoga Springs and then transferring to the Magic Kingdom is the quickest route.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
