How long do the Christmas decorations stay up on the cruise ships.

    Ahoy, Arthur!

Seeing Disney Cruise Line's fleet of ships decorated in holiday splendor is certainly a sight to behold! The ships are decorated stem to stern with all kinds of holiday awesomeness, including giant Christmas trees and life-sized Gingerbread houses. Even Castaway Cay gets the holiday treatment, with sandy snowmen, twinkling lights, and trams decorated like reindeer!

We were thrilled to take a post-Christmas cruise in December of 2011, on the gorgeous Disney Dream. Our sail date was a few days after Christmas, so we weren't expecting to see holiday decorations on the ship. We were super excited when Minnie Mouse greeted us at the cruise terminal in her holiday wear! When we boarded the ship, the decorations were still up from Christmas, to our delight. Ours was a New Year's cruise, and we disembarked on January 3rd. Immediately following our sailing, the decorations began to come down. We could see them transporting decorations off of the ship as we walked down the ramp into the cruise terminal.

While I can't guarantee exact dates that holiday decorations are removed, I would expect most would remain through New Year's celebrations.

I hope this helps with your planning! Happy Holidays, and Happy Cruising! - Diane W.
