Christmas on Main Street

How long will the Christmas decorations stay up for in 2024. Will the castle still have the Frozen theme (at night) on Dec 31 through the first week in January?

    Season's greetings, Lisa!

A warm and cozy welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you've decided to drop by with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It sounds like you're planning a holly-jolly holiday visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. There's no place like the Walt Disney World Resort during the most wonderful time of the year! I'm happy to help you prepare for a vacation brimming with holiday cheer.

There's nothing else like it... walking down Main Street, U.S.A. in the evening with holiday lights aglow and Christmas carols ringing in the air. Lisa, while we usually don't take vacations in the traditional holiday period, my family typically visits the Walt Disney World Resort in early January each year so that I can participate in Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. We love that the temperatures are generally mild and crowds are usually lower during that time of year! While things can vary from year to year and offerings are always subject to change, the seasonal holiday décor at the Walt Disney World Resort has almost always been in place during our recent early January visits. After glancing back through my vacation photos from this past year, I can confirm that Main Street, U.S.A. was still dressed in its dapper holiday best on January 10, 2023!

Since Frozen Holiday Surprise will be a new offering for this year, it's hard to say how long it'll be featured in Magic Kingdom Park, Lisa. This festive experience will transform Cinderella Castle in a dazzling new way, featuring familiar friends like Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and more! Though details haven't been announced quite yet, it sounds like this may be a projection-type experience vs. the lights that were previously displayed on Cinderella Castle. I'd stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more details pertaining to this exciting new offering!

Lisa, I ho-ho-hope you've found this information helpful as you prepare for a merry and magical trip! If you have any additional planning questions, please stop by planDisney again anytime. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

    Happy holidays,

    Lauren
