How long do the character meals usually last? I am planning to do the Akershus breakfast and Tusker house breakfast. i would like to plan around these but don't know how much time to allot for the meals in my planning. Thanks!

    Hey Sara-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. One of our family traditions is to have at least one character meal each time we visit. From safari adventures and Polynesian family style dining to regal encounters and Mickey’s kitchen, we have never been disappointed. All Character dining experiences last about one hour while offering a beautifully blended buffet of delicious Disney delicacies. Try and say that tongue twister five times fast. Ha!

At Tusker House, Donald’s Dining Safari at Breakfast and Lunch your mouth will explore African cuisine yet still have the option to enjoy those delicious Mickey waffles. Yummy! My sons typically head for fruit and waffles while we open our palates to fresh new flavors which change frequently.

The best dining experience we have had was at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. At the Princess Storybook Dining meal I expected both of my sons to shy away from those adorable princesses but they jumped right into the conversation. It’s good to get advice from a princess about how to be a prince! We have amazing photos and even a video of the princess “parade” that occurs about every half hour. So cute. Norwegian accents with cheeses and fish as well as pastries, fruit, meat and eggs are perfect. The experience is worth every minute.

I recommend you having your autograph books, cameras, video cameras and smiles ready because both of these dining experience create the biggest smiles.

If you time it right, breakfast meals provide you the opportunity to explore parts of the theme park before they officially open. You can capture the most spectacular photos with your family of Harambe Village in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a calm and beautiful World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot.

Enjoy making many Magical (and delicious) Memories!
