How long is the average character breakfast? Reservations at Crystal Palace 8:15am and MK opens at 9am, will we be done by 9am? Thanks! Also, son has food allergies, will that take longer for the chef or will they be prepared?

    Hi Amanda!

It is entirely up to you how long you spend at a Disney Character Breakfast.  The one at Crystal Palace is a buffet, so you can get your food immediately and begin eating.

However, if you want to spend time with the fabulous Characters, then it will probably take longer than the allotted 45 minutes.

Also, keep in mind that an "Advanced Dining Reservation" guarantees your seat, but does not guarantee that you will be seated immediately at that time.  You must show up at that time to meet your reservation, but it may take a few minutes, typically no more than 10 to 15 minutes, to actually be seated.  This is due to the turnover time it takes between Guests.  You will not be rushed out of the restaurant, which is great because the children usually truly enjoy spending time with the Characters while you, the parents, get to enjoy a great meal in which the children are well-fed and entertained!

Regarding food allergies:  I recommend that you let them know about the food allergies as soon as you arrive for your reservation, and ask to speak directly with a Chef.  The Chef will come out to greet you, find out the specifics, and then be very helpful in actually walking you around the buffet to show you specifically what is appropriate for your child with allergies to eat or not to eat.  If he requires something specially made, then I recommend you call ahead to speak with the Chef and request exactly what is needed.  They are wonderful about accommodating food allergies.  Usually, it does not take longer to prepare these dishes than it would a regular order, even if you do not call ahead.  However, there will probably be things on the buffet that will be suitable.  It is best to call ahead, though.

I hope you find you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy this wonderful Character Dining experience!
