How long (approx) does it take to ride the monorail from epcot, all the way around, & back? And is there a charge?

Hello Ashley, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My favorite form of transportation is using the Walt Disney World Monorail System. This transportation is complimentary to all guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. There are 3 monorail loops, the Epcot loop, and the resort and express monorail loops. It sounds like you will be departing Epcot, take a trip on the express loop and then back to Epcot.

The “highway in the sky” will offer you some magnificent views along your routes. Personally, I would allow approximately at least 1 hour for each loop. You leave Epcot and travel to the Transportation and Ticket Center, when you arrive, you will disembark the Epcot monorail and board the Express Monorail. This will take you on a ride with stops at the Magic Kingdom and then back to the Transportation and Ticket Center. Depending on crowd size, this trip should take approximately 45-60 minutes. Once you arrive back at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you can exit the express monorail and board the Epcot Monorail. Your 6-mile trip back to Epcot should take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on wait time to board the monorail. Keep in mind that the monorail may not operate in certain weather conditions or have to hold in certain locations until they are clear to move on. It is always best to check with a Cast Member if you have any questions. I hope that answers your question. If it did not, please come back and visit us again with your question.

    See ya real soon,
