How long ahead should we book Lightning Lane Multi passes?

Hello Kim, and welcome to planDisney. Let's dive into the details of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and how it can make your visit to the Disneyland Resort even more enchanting!

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass grants access to the Lightning Lane entrances at a number of attractions. These entrances lead to shorter lines, helping you fit more magic into your day. At the Disneyland Resort, Lightning Lane attractions cannot be booked in advance like they can at Walt Disney World. Instead, after you've entered Disneyland or California Adventure, you'll use the Disneyland mobile app to select your first attraction. From there, you can continue to choose attractions throughout the day and get timeframes to return.

I recommend purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass ahead of your trip. That way, you won't have to worry about it selling out, which is possible, especially during peak seasons and holidays. The most convenient time to get one would be as you purchase your theme park ticket. Online, you'll have the option to add the multi pass after selecting your ticket date. If you already have your theme park tickets, don't fret! You should be able to add the multi pass by upgrading your existing ticket online, in the app, or by phone

You can also purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass directly through the Disneyland app on the day of your visit after scanning into the park (subject to availability). Just do it early in the day for maximum benefit. The app will be your best friend when it comes to booking your return times.

Here's another Lightning Lane tip: Some popular attractions are more likely to have later return windows than others, especially as the day progresses. I recommend prioritizing Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Guardians of the Galaxy and Toy Story Midway Mania in California Adventure.

Lastly, I see that you will be visiting during Halloween Time. This is one of my favorite times of the year at the Disneyland Resort, with spookily themed attractions, pumpkins galore, specialty foods, and other Bippity Boppity Boo-tastic fun

Kim, I hope this helps you feel even more ready for your magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. I wish you lots of pixie dust and happy family memories.
