Hello, Evelyn, and welcome to the magical world of planDisney, where we answer all of your burning questions about
Disney vacations!
Theme Park Reservations are required for some tickets before entering a park. Most Guests use date-based theme park tickets, which already have specific dates assigned to them and do not require a reservation. However, reservations are still required for
certain tickets, including
Annual Passes, student group tickets, Sports and Convention tickets, Disney Military Salute Tickets, and select other ticket types. Be sure to check the
Terms & Conditions of your ticket. All that being said, if you have an Annual Pass, you can currently enter any park after 2:00 p.m. without a reservation, except for
Magic Kingdom Park on weekends. On designated
“good to go” days, no reservation is required.
Blockout dates for an Annual Pass always apply.
If required, it’s recommended that you make reservations as soon as you know your dates and what parks you'd like to visit. While you could technically make them right up until you enter a park, reservations can and do book up, especially during busy times of the year like spring break, holidays, and holiday weekends. As Scar would say, “
Be prepared!”
It’s also important to note that if you have a ticket with the
Park Hopper Option, you only need to make a reservation for the first park of the day you are visiting. Once you’ve tapped into that park, you can hop to another one. Just note that buses don’t typically start running between parks until 10:00 a.m. (subject to change). So, if the park you'd like to visit doesn't have any reservations available, you can make a reservation and go to another park. Then, if your original park has capacity for park hopping, hop right over! I’m saying “hop” so much, I should probably summon my inner
Tigger and say "bounce" instead.
Evelyn, have a wonderful visit to the resort, and
please reach out again if you have any other questions!
Sending you off with a bounce in your step and magic in your plans,
Matt
