A warm welcome to planDisney. Thanks for visiting us with your wondEARful question about Walt Disney World Resort annual passes.

Haley, when you purchase an annual pass in advance of your vacation, an annual pass exchange certificate will be linked to your My Disney Experience account. Walt Disney World Resort annual pass exchange certificates do not expire for one full year. When you purchase your annual pass, you will have one year to activate it. Once you activate it by entering a Walt Disney World Resort theme park, your annual pass year officially begins!

If you buy an annual pass now, you can definitely wait to activate it during your April 2022 visit! Doing so would give your annual pass an April 2023 expiration date.
