Hi there, Amy!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is fast approaching and before you know it you will be celebrating on deck with Captain Mickey as you head out to sea for an unforgettable adventure! If you haven’t yet, be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so that you have all the information you need – menus, schedules, deck plans – at your fingertips!
My family absolutely loves
Castaway Cay…it’s pretty much like being on the “Mickey Boat” except you are on sand! There is food, entertainment, activities, excursions and even Youth Clubs on the island! So much to do, but yet so close to the ship in the event you forgot something or need to run back for a quick bit – just a perfect day! There are no lockers on the island for use while there, and I can understand your concern for your personal belongings while there. I have heard of others bringing their own type of “beach safe” to house their belongings, but I have not personally done so. We always use precaution and try to get a spot on the beach where we can keep an eye on our belongings while in the water and then regularly check on them. You are not required to bring a passport with you to Castaway Cay, so I recommend leaving that onboard in your stateroom safe. We will put our driver’s licenses in our lanyards along with our Key to the World cards and tuck those deep into our beach bag. Shutters photographers will be on the island capturing fun photo opportunities, so take advantage of that if you choose to leave your personal camera back on the ship for safe keeping.
Wishing you a magical and sun-filled day at the beach!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
