Hello, I lock my luggage when I fly, and wanted to make sure I could also lock it when I check it at the port. Are there any regulations on locking my luggage when cruising with DCL?

    Ahoy Jacquelyn –

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking a unique question regarding luggage locks.  As you know, luggage is checked-in at the cruise terminal and scanned for security purposes. Disney Cruise Line does not open luggage unless there are Prohibited Items seen when the bags are scanned. They have the discretion to open bags that have Prohibited Items and will then store those items until the end of the cruise at which time they will be returned to the guest. The cast members at Disney do not have universal TSA keys to unlock luggage, so if your lock is on the suitcase, it may be damaged when it is unlocked. For this reason, it is better to leave your luggage unlocked when checking it in at the terminal. I suggest that you pack all of your valuables, jewels and electronics in your carry-on luggage and keep it with you until you can secure these items in your stateroom safe. Jacquelyn, thanks for stopping by for a visit at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and if you need more help, Marcy and I will be here for you.
