We're locals with 2 young kids. We have seasonal passes and will be staying on site for a week in March. What are some things we can do as Disney guests that we can't during the rest of the year with our passes?

    Hi Sam,

Don't you just love the convenience of a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass? My family really enjoys the fact that we can pop into Walt Disney World for the day or the afternoon as often as we want.

Even though we're only an hour and 15 minutes away, we frequently stay for the weekend so that we can take advantage of all the perks of a Disney vacation.

As a guest, you can enjoy Extra Magic Hours, which will give you more time in the parks. You can swim and play in the great pools at your resort. You can park your car once and use the free Disney transportation system to get wherever you want to go. Some kids, and even adults, think the Disney buses, monorails and boats are as much fun as the rides in the theme parks.

As a resort guest, you also will get MagicBands and be able to book your FastPass+ reservations in advance. (The testing and distribution of MagicBands to annual passholders is just beginning.)

Here's the other benefit of staying at a Disney resort, even for a night, when you are a local: You can feel like you're actually on vacation.

When I'm at one of the resorts, no matter whether it's a value, moderate or deluxe, I'm away from the day-to-day chaos -- the work emails, the laundry, the grocery shopping and so on. I always feel like I'm more than 90 miles from home, and it gives me the chance to relax and really enjoy being with my husband and my daughters.

I tell people that we drive to Walt Disney World to have a conversation. It sounds funny, but it's true.

I hope you have a relaxing, memorable time during your onsite visit. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy getting away from it all so close to home!
