Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Jeri!
Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your day trip to
Disney World! There’s something so MAGICAL about being close enough to pop over, soak in the Disney vibes, and head home with that extra sprinkle of pixie dust. Whether you’re cruising down World Drive with your windows down or singing your favorite Disney song on the way, you’re in for a treat.
Fort Wilderness is the perfect spot to slow down, breathe in that pine-scented air, and enjoy a little frontier-style Disney adventure!
Pony rides are such a fun and laid-back way to enjoy a bit of frontier fun, especially if you are just popping in for the day. Since the
pony rides do not require reservations, during non-peak seasons, guests not staying at Fort Wilderness will be allowed to park directly at the Fort Wilderness entrance parking lot, located near the Outpost. After parking, hop on one of the internal buses that will take you to the Settlement area, where the Tri-Circle-D Ranch (home of those adorable ponies!) is located.
If it happens to be a busier time of year—like the holidays or summer vacation—you can always ask a Cast Member at the gate if parking is available while you enjoy the pony rides. I know they try to be very accommodating if you’re visiting for a short activity. If the parking lot is full, a great backup plan is to park at
Disney Springs and hop on a
resort bus to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
After the pony rides, you could definitely secure a parking spot if you made reservations to eat at
Trail's End Restaurant. After lunch or dinner, stroll by Bay Lake to spot boats gliding by and maybe even catch a glimpse of the
Electrical Water Pageant in the evening. It’s a perfect and quick Disney visit, with just the right amount of pixie dust and plenty of cowboy charm!
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. We are here to help in any way!
Have a MAGICAL day!
