LO is turning 3 so we're going to WDW to celebrate.Shes going to MK for the 1st time( and mommy's first time in 20years). She is pretty brave but I dont want t ruin the whole trip, what rides did you skip w/ your 3yo? That my short stuff is tall enough for

    Hello, Chelsea!

Your first trip to Walt Disney World with your little princess! You must be so excited!

We frequently travel with little ones, so if you want to take your first trip cautiously, so as not to try anything that may spoil the future fun for you and your little one, I'd avoid the following attractions. While some 3-year olds may be just fine with these, it's best for you to know that there may be a scary factor here. (I'm assuming that your little one is not yet 40 inches tall, so I'm skipping those attractions entirely.)

Magic Kingdom: Haunted Mansion (it's dark, and may or not be scary, depending on who is riding with her); Snow White's Scary Adventures (if it is still open, this ride is also dark, and may be a bit scary for a little one)

Epcot: Maelstrom (yes, I said it. Maelstrom has a seemingly-harmless troll which scared the woo out of my 3-year old!)

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Ok...Fantasmic! (The villains are dark, the music makes them even more intense and, while you can possibly talk your little one through those portions, I just wanted you to be forewarned); Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show (it's just really, really loud)

Disney's Animal Kingdom: It's Tough to be a Bug! (The show is harmless; however, there are spiders which drop / suspend from the ceiling and the audience inevitably screams...a lot. If that screaming will upset your little one, just skip this otherwise adorable attraction.)

That's it! While there are other attractions that may be too intense for a 3-year old princess, they require a minimum height of 40 inches. Incidentally, my kids have always been off the charts in height, so if your little one does meet that requirement, send me another question and I'll detail those as well!

    Have a wonderfully magical trip!
