James from IL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Can I use LLMP twice for same ride after cooling off period?

Hi James, welcome to planDisney! The countdown is underway – you'll be at the Happiest Place on Earth before you know it! Let's talk about Lightning Lanes, one of my favorite ways to maximize the magic at the Disneyland Resort!

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass grants access to the Lightning Lane entrance at several attractions, leading to shorter queues and, therefore, shorter wait times. With this pass, you could select return times for participating attractions using the Disneyland mobile app.

To answer your question, James: You can use the Lightning Lane Multi Pass once for each available attraction (subject to availability). That said, you can experience an attraction additional times by going through the stand-by queue. My tip for that is to be inside the park right when it opens, also known as rope drop. The wait times are typically shorter for many attractions compared to other times of the day. The early bird gets the worm, after all!

You mentioned a cooling-off period – there's something similar for the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, since you can only select one attraction at a time. Once you’ve redeemed your selection (or after 2 hours have passed since you made a selection), you can book your next Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction.

When planning your visit, remember that some popular attractions are more likely to have later return windows than others, especially as the day progresses. I recommend prioritizing Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Guardians of the Galaxy and Toy Story Midway Mania in California Adventure.

James, if you're interested in also experiencing Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers, those have their own Lightning Lane passes. You could purchase these separately from (but in addition to) the multi pass (subject to availability).

Another way to experience certain attractions with a typically shorter wait time is to go as a Single Rider. In this case, you would use a designated queue and wait to fill a seat that was not taken by Guests in the stand-by line. Then you'd ride independently from others in your party. Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Radiator Springs Racers, and a few others offer this option.

Make sure to build time into your schedule to stop at the PhotoPass locations scattered around the Resort, since you'll get unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your day with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Why not capture magical moments from your visit?

James, you are getting closer to making happy memories at the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always glad to help.

    Adventure awaits!
