Hiya Patricia,
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your planning question. How exciting that your trip is just around the corner! Bringing a backpack is such a smart idea for a day at the park. My family always carries one for things like water bottles, sunscreen, and snacks for the kids. I find these little essentials help keep everyone happy while exploring the parks.
Let’s jump right into your backpack question. According to the current
park guidelines, bags (with or without wheels) larger than 24 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 18 inches high are not permitted in the theme parks or water parks. Based on the dimensions you shared (18 inches high, 14 inches wide, and 5 inches deep), your L.L.Bean backpack should fall within the allowed size limits, even with the side pockets included.
Just keep in mind that all bags are subject to a quick security screening before entering the parks. Also, if you plan to bring anything to keep drinks or snacks cool, loose ice or dry ice is not permitted, but reusable ice packs are perfectly fine and something we use often on warm Florida park days.
Since you’ll be visiting soon, be sure to make some time to stroll through
EPCOT, where the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full bloom. The topiaries are absolutely stunning. One of my family’s favorites is the Lion King display where Rafiki is holding up baby Simba, just like the iconic moment from the movie. It makes for such a fun photo stop! We also love wandering through Butterfly Landing and seeing if a butterfly might land on us. My girls could stay there forever just watching them flutter around.
Patricia, I hope this helps answer your question and gives you peace of mind as you pack for your magical adventure. If any other questions pop up while you’re planning, feel free to visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
