We live in UK and always stay onsite and visit WDW during SW weekends. Next time we need to visit a different time of the year to tie in with kids school holidays so April, August or December. Any recommendations on the best time and what's on?

April, August, and December all have their pros and cons...

    • April brings mild weather and the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival but big crowds around Easter which is a major holiday and Spring Break time for students in the U.S. This year, Easter falls on the first weekend of April, however, in 2016, it will land at the end of March, so if your schedule allows for a trip toward the middle or end of April this year or next, you'll encounter beautiful weather and manageable crowds.
    • August sees high temperatures, muggy weather and afternoon showers. The beginning of the month finds thick crowds but the closer you get to Labor Day, the fewer guests on property. It would be my least favorite of the times you can go for crowds, weather and special events.
    • December harkens weather that can be a mixed bag. I've worn shorts and flip-flops and a heavy coat on the same vacation! Both the resorts and parks are decorated for the holidays which makes the place even more festive, not to mention Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party offered many nights during the month. Crowds used to be small at the beginning and middle of the month but that secret is now out and the past few years have seen larger crowds. The week between Christmas and New Year's is not recommended for first-timers as you need to know how to maneuver the parks optimizing FastPass+, dining reservations, and Extra Magic Hours.

As I mentioned before, if I had to pick between the three months, April would be my choice.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
