Kendall from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We live in SoCal & would like to purchase resident tickets. We are military however & do not have CA IDs. Is there an exception if we provide military ID along with other proof of residency? The military tickets are significantly more.

    Hi Kendall,

Thank you for stopping by with your question. On behalf of all of us here at planDisney, please let us thank you and your family for your service!

I see that you are interested in purchasing the SoCal Residents 3-day ticket. To qualify for this promotion, when you have your first visit, you will need to show a current government-issued photo ID that includes a zip code in the qualifying area. Unfortunately Cast Members are not taking any other additional proof of residency. I know that may be disappointing news, but I do have an alternative that may work for you and family.

Disneyland is currently offering a promotional deal for active and retired US military personnel. You can choose from a 3-day or a 4-day promotional Park Hopper ticket. You mentioned that the price point between these two deals differ, but the military promotion comes with the Park Hopper whereas the SoCal promotion does not (you need to add that on for an additional price). Another great benefit is the Military promotion allows you to use your tickets up until December 27, 2025, but the SoCal tickets are only good until May 15, 2025.

Be sure to check out the additional details as the usage of the tickets differs from the SoCal tickets. You can purchase these tickets through your local US military base ticket office. If you qualify, you could also purchase your tickets through GOVX.com. Just make sure you link your tickets through the Disneyland app or website so that you can make your park reservations.

I hope this information is helpful, Kendall. Please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist if you have any more questions. My fellow panelist, Carrie, has experience in navigating Disney and military life, so if you have another military specific question, she would be a great resource.  I hope you and your family will be able to visit “The Happiest Place on Earth” real soon, especially to celebrate the 70th anniversary

    Wishing you the best.
