Are any of the live shows performed as a matinee on the Disney Dream? We are traveling with 5 kids ranging from 2-11 & have the early seating for dinner so we will be seeing the shows at the later time, which may be too late for the younger kids.

    Welcome aboard, Tina!

What an awesome set of buccaneers you've got there - all 5 of them will have loads of swashbuckling fun on the Disney Dream! It's a party just with your crew. On the flip side... this might just be your chance for some rest and relaxation yourself :-). Imagine just dropping them off ALL DAY at the Youth Clubs... and the adults get the whole day all to yourselves to enjoy. Yeah!

The Broadway-style live shows onboard are only shown twice every evening. I hope that you don't miss any of them, since they really are spectacular. Unfortunately, there is no matinee show. It's gonna take a little bit of juggling of schedules for the little ones, I agree. I remember my little one snoozing at dinner (we usually have late dinner seating), but they totally enjoyed the live shows. Yours might end up snoozing during the show, after dinner. Which happens quite a bit for the early dinner seating crowd. You'll notice parents carrying their sleeping little ones after the show. There's no amount of loud music and fireworks that can keep them awake unfortunately. Once they're out - they're out.

I met a couple of parents at our last cruise, and they opted to leave the little kids at the Youth Clubs after dinner, so that the adults (and the bigger kids) watched the late show. The little ones can play at the Youth Clubs for the rest of the evening, they even get to spend some time with Princesses reading them bed time stories. And yes -- I've had my kids asleep on the mats in the youth clubs plenty of times! The youth counselors do a great job in handling the tired and grumpy kids -- they'll know what to do and they do their best in making them comfortable.

But who knows - the little kids might also surprise you, and be on a magical extended battery in the evenings! My kids have done that too... then it's off to bed right after the show! I hope schedules work for you. Bon voyage!
