Will there be a live RunDisney event in January 2021 or has it gone virtual?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Amy, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to see you here again! I’d love to help you with your runDisney question, so let’s get started!

I checked the runDisney website, and found a runDisney update posted on the homepage, announcing the transition of the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend in November to a virtual race. However, there was also a section of the announcement that mentioned some potentially good news about the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January. Here’s what it says:

“We’re looking at every aspect of the runDisney experience and making decisions with the safety and well-being of our athletes, volunteers, Cast Members and Guests at the forefront of our planning. At this time, we plan to host the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend as scheduled and will share more details at a later date. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding.”

So, as of now, the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is still set to be held at the Most Magical Place on Earth! I sincerely hope this special weekend will be the kick-off to a better year ahead for all of us!

In the meantime, I recommend checking out these awesome training programs to make sure you’re ready to race come January. You can also keep your eyes on the runDisney Blog for all the latest runDisney news and announcements.

Sending pixie dust your way, Amy, and wishing for a healthy and prosperous 2021!

    Wishing you magic,
    Kristin

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
