Hi Randall,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Can I just tell you how totally jealous I am that you live within biking distance from
Disney’s Animal Kingdom? You’re living that #LocalLife, and that’s the dream for many of us here on the Panel!
I thought a lot about your question because, while I have seen Guests riding bikes in various areas at Walt Disney World, I could not remember seeing any on the roads or in the parking lots. I reached out to a Cast Member, who confirmed with the
Parking team that, for the safety of Guests, bicycles are not allowed through the Auto Plazas at the Walt Disney World theme parks. He did ask me to let you know that motorized scooters or mopeds are allowed, so if you have one of those, you’ll be good to go! Your other options are driving yourself or taking an Uber or taxi from your house (and I would just like to mention once more how amazing it is that you can Uber to Walt Disney World from your house).
I hope I’ve given you a few options, Randall, and that you don’t feel like Anna and Elsa from Frozen, stuck riding their bike around the halls. Adventure is out there, and I hope you have a fantastic time on your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, however you get there. It’s a perfect park for a fan of alternative transportation: where else can you ride on the back of a banshee, on a weather-beaten train up a forbidden mountain, in a white water raft, and in a Time Rover all in one day?
Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day, and safe travels on your biking adventures,
Robyn
