Hiya, Lori!
Welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you are going to enjoy one of
Disney's Beach Resorts - Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. My husband and I enjoyed this Resort last year, and it's a wonderful way to be immersed in the magic of Disney while flippin' your fins in the ocean. It's the best way to be part of both worlds, in my opinion.
Lori, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is quieter than most Disney Resorts, but it is still full of magic. It does have lots of
family-friendly activities and character visits, along with two swimming pools (one located at the Beach House and one on the main property) and two quick service restaurants (again, one located at the Beach House and one on the main property.) My recommendation would be to check the board right outside of Community Hall each day. This is where you'll learn each day's activities, including which of our favorite Disney friends will be out and about and when, Cast Member-led activities, evening activities like S'mores, and so much more. There are campfires, sing-alongs, trivia, and lots of magic to be had. You can also enjoy the fun at the Community Hall and the Beach House, which are great spots for playing board games, enjoying the pool table, or even just cooling off in the air conditioning. I recommend renting a bike and enjoying the great outdoors or taking a nature hike, when not flippin' your fins in the surf.
Now for dining, Signals (located at the Beach House) offers lunch and snacks, and Tide Me Over at the main resort offers burgers, salads, and some Carolina specialties! Both of these are quick-service restaurants; however, there is sit-down dining within walking distance to the Resort.
To get to the Beach House, there is a shuttle bus operated by the Resort that comes around every 5-10 minutes or so. I definitely recommend the shuttle rather than walking to the beach, as it is a quick trip, but so much easier to ride in a royal chariot Disney-style than to walk there (especially in the heat.) There are options for renting umbrellas and chairs at the beach if you would like; however, these are run by outside vendors. Alternatively, you can bring your own.
I hope this helps you, Lori! If you have any further questions, stop back here to see me. Remember, wherever you wander and wherever you roam, Disney Vacation Club is always your home sweet home!
Magically Yours,
Keri
