We live in Florida and have just planned a last minute trip to The Grand Floridian, arriving next week. Any suggestions on getting into a Character Meal? I understand they book up months in advance. Thanks for your help!

Hello fellow Floridian!    In case you haven't been to the Grand Floridian, you are in for a real treat.   Its one of my favorite resorts.

As to your question, I would continue calling the reservation line, especiaily as you approach the start of your vacation.   I have found that folks do cancel their reservations and Disney will look to re-fill these empty slots.    This is especially true each morning as folks cancel last minute.    The good news is that there are many character dining options inside and outside the parks.   If you are willing to be flexible on both time and location, I wouldn't be surprised if they can't find something during one of the days you visit.    Check with your hotel concierge, they are a great resource as well.

Lastly, if you happen to be visiting Epcot during your stay and are open to lunch character dining, the Garden Grill within the Land I often find has a few reservation left first thing in the morning.   The food is great and you will find Mickey, Minnie and a few others.   Enjoy your trip!
