We live close to Disneyland. What are some must rides in Disney World? Kids 10,8,8,2. Also, is it easy to get to a grocery store without a car? Thank You.

    Hi Alice,

I'm so pleased that you're taking the transcontinental journey to investigate Walt Disney World.  While Disneyland is Walt's initial theme park, it is at Walt Disney World in Florida that his ideas blossomed on a much larger scale.

Make sure that your kids experience all of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom.  I bet they will also enjoy Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, the Country Bear Jamboree, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Jungle Cruise.

While you may see some familiar rides in the Magic Kingdom, Epcot will be an incredible new experience for your family.  Your youngest will not be old enough to experience Soarin' but make sure your older kids get the chance to try this ride.  The whole family will enjoy the Living Seas with Nemo and Friends.  Check out the rides and attractions in the World Showcase Pavilions too.  I'm particularly fond of the boat ride in the Mexico Pavilion.  No day in Epcot is complete without a nighttime viewing of Illuminations.

Be sure to experience the Kilimanjaro Safaris and Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  Toy Story Mania and Fantasmic! are "must-dos" at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  If your older children are thrill seekers, Expedition Everest, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Rock 'N Roller Coaster with Aerosmith, and Star Tours are excellent.

As for groceries at Walt Disney World, your Disney hotel will have the basics available in a gift shop at your resort.  Beyond that, you would have to hire a cab to take you to a store several miles away. Instead, you may want to consider placing an order with gardengrocer.com before your arrival.  For a minimal charge, they will deliver your groceries directly to your Disney resort.

Best wishes to you for a splendid vacation with the mouse in the south!
