We live in your area and are visiting Disney World in August. We will be driving. Have you ever driven to Disney World? How long did it take? Any advice? We have a 4 year old and 1 year old.

Hi Angela! We prefer to drive to Walt Disney World for our vacations. I love being able to pack whatever I want and purchase whatever I want to bring home. Our trip varies greatly depending on our stops to visit friends, restroom breaks, food stops and/or last minute sight seeing adventures.

I would make the following recommendations:
    1. Try to spread your travel over two days by visiting with family or friends that live in places that are on the way to Orlando. If this is not an option, plan an overnight stay in a city you would love to take a family tour or visit an attraction.
    2. Maximize driving time while the children are sleeping and less likely to need restroom breaks.
    3. Bring Disney movies for the children to watch during the ride.
    4. Enjoy your stops for breakfast and lunch, try not to rush to return to the road.
    5. Remember this is your vacation and your drive should be fun.
    6. Avoid reservations or "must do" activities on your arrival day.

I hope that your family enjoys the drive as much as we do. Have safe travels and a Magical Vacation!
