I was a little surprised when I called to get the EMH for the week of 5/17-24. I find out that there r only 4 EMH nights. Does that mean that the crowds may be lighter or will they increase the EMH hours? Is it worth it to go in am EMH?

Hi Audrey!  I do know the Extra Magic Hours for the time you are referring to as I will also be vacationing at Walt Disney World!

During your stay from May 17-24 there will be an Extra Magic Evening Hour time for each park:
    5/17-Magic Kingdom
    5/18-Hollywood Studios
    5/20-Animal Kingdom
    5/22-EPCOT
5/24-Magic Kingdom (this one is especially late due to the holiday weekend and the time listed for this night for the park to stay open is 11 p.m.-2 a.m.)

It is always a good idea to enjoy the parks during the extra hours for resort guests only.  The crowds do dwindle as the evening goes on and the lines for rides are much shorter.  Guests who are not staying on property must leave at the regular closing time and those that want to stay must show proof of resort occupancy and they are given a wrist band to wear for the evening.  The crowds in general will be greater everywhere as you get closer to the holiday weekend.

Extra Magic Morning hours are worthwhile as well as you get the jump start on the parks before anyone else. Our family finds it hard to get up early to get there but when we do we are always happy we did!!!!
