Hi Nick!
Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question. I'm happy to help!
The Little Mermaid rooms at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort are designed to immerse you in the world of Ariel and her friends, with colorful decor and themed “under the sea” details. While the rooms don’t feature ceiling fans, each room has an individual air conditioning unit that allows you to control the temperature to your comfort level (my personal comfort level is “deep freeze” – just call me Elsa!). The air conditioning can easily keep your room cool and comfortable even during the hottest Florida days.
If you’re used to having a fan at night for air circulation or white noise, you might consider bringing a small portable fan with you. These can easily fit in your luggage and can be plugged in next to the bed for added comfort. I never travel without a portable fan - I couldn’t sleep without the airflow and the noise!
If you’re mainly looking for the sound of a fan to help you sleep, there are plenty of apps available that simulate fan noise or other calming sounds. This can be a convenient option that doesn’t require packing extra gear. I personally use both a fan
and a white noise app at home and when I travel.
Even without a ceiling fan, the Little Mermaid rooms are a delightful place to stay, with fun, thematic touches that make you feel like you’re living under the sea. My favorite detail is on the small table near the door. You’ll see the sheet music for “Under the Sea”, the song from the animated film where Sebastian tries to warn Ariel that “the human world is a mess”!
Whether you’re relaxing after a day of
swimming, or winding down after
park-hopping, you’ll find the Little Mermaid rooms to be a cozy, cool, and comfortable place to recharge for your next magical adventure at Walt Disney World!
I hope you have a splash-tacular stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort!
