Hello, we have a little in our group that won’t be able to go on all the rides. How do lightning lanes work with rider switch? Does the person waiting with the little book the lighting lane as well?

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited that you are just days away from your visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks for bringing your question to us.

Melissa, visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth with little ones is one of the most special vacations you will take. My daughters are now grown-ups and I still reminisce about our Disney vacations when they were little. One reason these trips are so special is that Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to help little ones and their families have a magical vacation.

Rider Switch is a helpful way for grown-ups and older kids to enjoy all their favorite attractions while little ones enjoy something more their speed or just relax. You can make Genie+ Service Lightning Lane selections or purchase Individual Lightning Lane reservations for the same time for everyone (except little ones younger than 3 years of age) in your party, including the first person waiting with your little one. When your return time arrives, head to the Lightning Lane entrance of the attraction and let the Cast Member know you plan to take advantage of Rider Switch. The Cast Member will assist you with all the details and ensure that everyone who wishes to ride and has an Individual Lightning Lane will be able to access the Lightning Lane entrance when it is their turn to ride. One bonus of Rider Switch is that the second person to ride may take one other Guest with them, just let the Cast Member know. It’s as simple as that!

Melissa, did you know that each of the four theme parks has a Baby Care Center? These adorable air-conditioned oases provide a quiet place to change diapers, feed, or simply relax with your little one. You can locate them using the map feature in the My Disney Experience app.

I hope this information will help you and your family have a trip full of a lifetime of magical memories, Melissa! Please let us know if you have other questions.

    See ya real soon,
    Shannon
