Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jamie!
I have two serious Descendants fans in my house too, and we have been singing Queen of Mean for weeks. After three movies, we know a LOT about the Villain Kids’ backstory, so it makes sense that your princess would be wanting to get even more details about the VKs and the Isle of the Lost!
Walt Disney World is a world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy, and that means that sometimes you meet characters who are at different points in their stories. For example, you can meet
“Provincial Belle” in the blue dress she wears at the beginning and middle of Beauty and the Beast, and you can also
meet Belle in her yellow ball gown. If you encounter the Evil Queen, you might be meeting her during her “let’s get Snow White” days, not her days on the Isle of the Lost. For that reason, I can’t promise that every character you encounter will be familiar with Mal, Evie, and friends.
Having said that, one of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World is meeting characters, and I’ve had some very interesting conversations and asked lots of questions, and they have always responded in funny or meaningful ways, so I have a feeling it would be totally fine. There are so many ways to be wicked, after all!
While you may meet some villains if you attend
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, you likely won’t experience a meet and greet with too many villains outside of the party. You can meet the Evil Queen at
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White and Lady Tremaine during dinner at
1900 Park Fare, and you may glimpse villains at
Fantasmic! and during the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. If you do attend the party, you might be able to meet some of the Descendants parents, including
Cruella de Vil and Jafar, but they may be too occupied with their own wicked worlds to talk much about Descendants.
Earlier this week, I spotted a little girl in an Audrey costume and hairstyle in Magic Kingdom Park, and learned that
The Pirates League is currently offering limited-time Uma, Audrey, and Mal makeovers. If you’ll be attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, your daughter won’t want to miss the
DescenDANCE Party at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, featuring a dance party to favorite songs from the movies and video clips from some familiar faces.
It’s good to be bad, and I hope you and your daughter have so much wicked fun during your upcoming vacation!
