My little family is staying at Pixar Place soon! We have a family member that lives close by that wants to join us for 1 night/day. They will buy a park ticket, is there any kind of ballpark number for how much a night would be to add to our reservation?

Greetings, Kylee, and welcome to planDisney! I love Pixar Place Hotel – the whimsical décor, bold colors, and plentiful amenities make for a fun and memorable time! It's one of my kids' favorite places to stay. I totally understand wanting to share the fun with a family member who lives nearby. Let's talk about your options.

Kylee, it's a little tricky to provide a ballpark cost for changing the number of Guests on your reservation without knowing all the magical details. These include whether you booked your stay as a vacation package, your travel dates, and the number of Guests currently listed. The best option is to call the Vacation Packages phone line. A Cast Member will be able to look at room availability for your travel dates and provide you with an estimated cost to add one more Guest to your reservation. They can also help modify your reservation if you decide it's something you want to do.

I do know, Kylee, that if you booked your stay as a vacation package (with hotel accommodations and theme park tickets together), you may not be able to add a Guest to your reservation without adding theme park tickets for them. That would reflect as a higher overall cost for your vacation package.

Here are a few alternate options for your family member to consider:

    • Look into booking a room-only reservation at the hotel for one night.
    • Meet up for some fun at the Downtown Disney District. There are plenty of options for shopping and dining. There is also a bowling alley, and live music may be available on select nights.
    • Meet you at the hotel for some fun experiences that are open to everyone, such as dining at Great Maple Modern Eatery or playing a round of miniature golf at Pixar Putt

Now, let's talk about Pixar Place Hotel a little more. You may encounter Joe Gardner from "Soul" playing the piano in the lobby or Bing Bong from "Inside Out" greeting Guests. If you are a fan of Pixar movies, you'll appreciate all the small details, such as the Luxo Jr. desktop lamp in the room and the Pixar Ball pillow on the bed.

The standout feature for me is the rooftop deck, which features a pool, splash pad, large waterslide, interactive games, themed fire pits, and an open grassy area. My kids spent so much time here during our last stay. On nights when Disneyland has fireworks, you can even watch them from the deck – the view is amazing, and the music from the show is played over speakers.

Kylee, I suggest calling the Vacation Packages phone line soon to determine if you'd like to modify your reservation. I'll wish upon a star that you and your family, however you decide to move forward, will have a fantastic time visiting the Disneyland Resort. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
