Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Mary from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, this is still a little confusing about the magic Kingdom and annual Passholder starting July 20. An annual Passholder can go to any other park, check-in and then park hop to Magic Kingdom from July 20 on. Is this correct?

Welcome to planDisney, Mary! From one Annual Passholder to another, I'm glad to chat with you about your question today!

Mary, in anticipation of Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, the new nighttime parade debuting at Magic Kingdom Park on July 20, Annual Passholders will be required (for a limited time) to have a theme park reservation at all times when they are visiting Magic Kingdom as their first park of the day, regardless of time. This change replaces the existing policy that Annual Passholders can enter Magic Kingdom after 2 PM without a theme park reservation or on good-to-go days without a theme park reservation.

For Annual Passholders who plan to park hop over to Magic Kingdom after July 20, there is no change to park hopping privileges. So, if you make a theme park reservation and visit another park earlier in the day, as long as Magic Kingdom has not reached capacity, you can park hop over to Magic Kingdom once you've redeemed your initial reservation!

Mary, while the parks don't often reach capacity, if Magic Kingdom does, you'll receive a notification through the My Disney Experience mobile app so you can adjust your plans. The new parade will roll twice each night (at 9 PM and 11 PM) with Happily Ever After in between. That sounds like a most magical night to me!

I hope this helps, Mary, and I hope you have a fantastic visit at the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any other questions, come see us again here at planDisney!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
