I am a little concered about when I have booked my vacation to WDW! I have two 7 yrs and a 14 yr old,we are going the week after Christmas, first visit.I have read its very busy that week, how do I make sure to make this an enjoyable trip for them? Thanks!

Hi, Sheri from my beautiful home state of Alabama! Congratulations on your first tip! Why yes, the week between Christmas and New Year's is of the busiest times of the year at Walt Disney World. However, there are still so many things to see, do and enjoy that you can make the most of your time. Here are a few of my tips for visiting during busy times of the year:

    • The Park Hopper Option is a must.  You can choose to spend some time at one park in the morning or afternoon and then shuffle over to another one for the evening. You can base your moves on crowds once you arrive or by special events that may be taking place during the holidays. "Hopping" allows you to see more with greater flexibility.
    • Book dining reservations for "off" times -- late breakfasts or lunches and early dinners allow you to dine when others are touring the parks. Then, when the crowds are taking a break to eat, you can hit the attractions.
    • Plan your Fast Passes. When the crowds are the thickest, get to a park early and grab a Fast Pass (FP) for the most coveted attraction. Then, plan your FP strategy for the rest of the day.
    • Do something different! Play a round of mini-golf, rent a sea raycer or book a tour experience. Taking a break from the crowds helps to rejuvenate.

In addition, make sure you take a look at all the special events, entertainment and activities that take place during the holidays.  Another great idea is to tour the other resorts to see their beautiful Christmas decorations and experience some special holiday happenings. Come back if you have more questions.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
