Our little boy and girl will be just a few days shy of their third birthday while we are at WDW. We were wondering if it's possible to still book them at Pirates League and BBB anyway. Do they ask for proof of age? Thoughts? Thanks!!!

Hi Alison! Many parents struggle with the age requirement for both Pirates League and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as they hope their children can experience these activities. But the age limit is there for a good reason for the children to get the most out of it. Children must be able to sit for a lengthy time and younger then three and even many three year olds find it difficult. You also have to often wait just to get into a chair for the make over.

I had my grandson experience the Pirates League when he was three and it actually wasn't the best for him. They do a wonderful job of acting like they are all pirates and take the makeover quite seriously. He did not understand all that was going on such as giving him a pirate name and some of the conversation. He was wide eyed when they told him they were going to give him a tattoo and did not really participate much in the ongoing banter.

He looked adorable when he was finished but he did not want to do it again on his next visit. Two years later he did the experience again but only because his cousin was there with him. My suggestion is not to rush these things. Wait for the age requirement that they set forth and then judge your child to see if they can handle the experience and understand what will be going on around them. You want it to be positive in all regards. I have never been asked for proof of age however they will ask for the birthday in the Pirates League as part of the experience.
