Is there a list of attractions that may be difficult for guests of a larger size to ride? Trying not to do the walk of shame!

Hi there, Jo Ann! Welcome to planDisney—I'm so glad you stopped by with this excellent question! Let's talk about how you can enjoy every single attraction with confidence and comfort, ensuring your visit is filled with nothing but wonderful moments!

The Walt Disney Imagineering team poured so much heart into making sure the magic is for everyone. When it comes to attractions, the main goal is safety and comfort. While most attractions are designed to comfortably accommodate Guests up to 600 pounds, it's truly less about a specific number and more about how perfectly you fit into the ride vehicle's unique hug (that's what I like to call the safety restraints!). Each attraction has its own special way of keeping you secure, whether it's a trusty lap bar, a snug seatbelt, or an over-the-shoulder embrace. This means your experience can feel a little different from one journey to the next! For instance, you might find Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster to be a bit more snug, while Incredicoaster utilizes an over-the-shoulder restraint system that may feel less comfortable for some Guests. Ultimately, your personal comfort within these safety systems is key to a magical ride!

Some attractions, like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and Mad Tea Party, have special test seats right out front of the ride’s entrance. You can hop in, get a feel for the restraints, and decide if it's the perfect fit for your adventure before you even step into the queue. (Pro tip: These test seats also double as fun photo ops! I recently spotted Disney PhotoPass photographers near Mad Tea Party snapping fun photos of Guests!). Also, the helpful Cast Members at each attraction are true experts—don't hesitate to chat with them at the entrance. They know all the ins and outs of their ride vehicles and restraints, and they can offer fantastic insights, like pointing out if certain rows might offer a bit more wiggle room. They're there to help you feel completely at ease. Sometimes, simply watching a ride vehicle load and unload can give you a great visual idea of the seating and how the restraints work.

And while the rides are undoubtedly enchanting, don't forget there’s so much more magic to explore—especially during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! There’s dazzling entertainment, delightful character encounters, and countless ways to create unforgettable memories. I always love taking a moment to simply soak in the atmosphere, perhaps enjoying some live music on Main Street, U.S.A., or finding a cozy spot to enjoy a snack. The entire park is a show in itself!

Jo Ann, I truly hope these tips help you feel prepared and excited for your Disneyland adventure! I'm wishing you a truly comfortable and magical visit to the Disneyland Resort, filled with joy and happy moments! If any more questions come up, you know where to find your pals at planDisney!
