Hello there, Karan!
You’re as welcome as can be to planDisney. I’m happy to plan along with you as you prepare for your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort. In fact, I’m pretty much in the same situation you are. I too purchased tickets earlier this year for an anticipated visit to the
theme parks. I had linked them into the
Disneyland app, where they safely rested, awaiting that magical day when we could take them to The Happiest Place on Earth! Then, some weeks ago, those virtual tickets made like the
Cheshire Cat and disappeared from the app.
Since I also have the physical tickets, I thought I’d try re-adding their virtual counterparts back into the app. But when I attempted to re-link the tickets, I got a message that said “The ticket or pass you entered has already been linked to your account.” Phew! Disney still knows they are linked to my account. Maybe those tickets just wanted to explore the mysteries of time and space with Doctor Strange in
Avengers Campus. But when the
phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort progresses to opening the theme parks, I’m confident those physical tickets I have will help me unlock a portal to bring back the virtual tickets from the
Mirror Dimension.
Now, about those park reservations... Yes, it is expected that Guests will be required to make reservations in order to visit one of the Disneyland Resort theme parks. This will help keep visitor levels within reduced capacities to comply with current public health and social distancing requirements. It might be somewhat helpful to take a look at the
Disney Park Pass system currently in use at the
Walt Disney World Resort to see how things may work at the Disneyland Resort.
However, details about the Disneyland Resort system for park reservations have not yet been released. There will almost certainly be unique characteristics to meet different operational needs in Southern California. For example, when
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at the Disneyland Resort last year, there was a one-month period when advanced reservations were required to gain entrance to that galaxy far, far away. But obtaining a reservation to visit the new land did not require existing tickets to be linked in the reservation holder’s account beforehand. Will that be how things work for whole-park reservations too? I’m afraid that remains to be seen. There is at least a precedent. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, one way or another, I feel confident that things will work out when the time comes to make those reservations.
If you have any more questions about your upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation, please don’t hesitate to return to planDisney. We are happy to help make your Disney Parks vacations as magical as possible.
