Hey there Shannon! Thanks for bringing another great question back to planDisney!
For past trips, I have been able to use my
MagicBand+ at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, but they have both been linked to my own account in both mobile apps. I spoke to a helpful Cast Member, and he let me know that while you would be able to use your MagicBand+ at both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, you would not be able to transfer your MagicBand+ to your husband or a different account than yours to use while visiting the Disneyland Resort. He also let me know that he recently spoke with a Guest who tried to do this and unfortunately, it did not work for them.
However, if you are planning to visit both coasts, you are definitely able to use your MagicBand+ for yourself, I've done that several times! I would
follow these steps to help get your MagicBand+ setup for your MyDisney account for the Disneyland Resort. Once it is linked, you will be able to assign it to a specific theme park ticket. I hope your MagicBand+ setup is as simple as the flick of a wand from your Fairy Godmother!
While you're visiting the West Coast, there are some very fun
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration MagicBand+ interactions to experience throughout Disneyland Park! There are 5 designated locations, and with your MagicBand+ you can unlock some special surprises including printed commemorative souvenirs, which is such a fun way to remember your trip.
I hope this information is useful and helps answer your question, Shannon! Please
come back to planDisney if we can help with any other questions. I'm sending you and your family warm hugs for your wonderful vacation.
Have a magical day!
Melissa
