Hi Tara, and welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you've sent your question to us. There are
so many new things to zip-a-dee-doo this year in Walt Disney World, and a few logistical changes as well. I'd be happy to bring you up to speed.
MagicBands are a cute and convenient vacation accessory, and I have accumulated quite a collection at this point. Now that they are no longer included with a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel stay, I plan to reuse MagicBands from previous trips or purchase them before my vacation begins to take advantage of features like room entry, theme park admission, and charging with a linked credit card.
Should you forego the purchase or reuse of a MagicBand, its features are available by using a Key to the World Card which is obtained at the front desk of your resort hotel. The Key to the World Card will be linked to
My Disney Experience and tickets associated with the account can be redeemed simply by tapping it at the park entrance. Additionally, you can use the My Disney Experience app on your mobile phone for online check-in/direct-to-room service and access to your resort room with the digital room key. If you are not staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you will need to pick up admission media with identification and confirmation number at Will Call just outside a theme park entrance.
Fortunately, Disney makes it easy to pay for everything from quick-service meals to
ear headbands with or without a MagicBand.
Disney Gift Cards, Apple Pay, cash, and valid credit and debit cards are accepted throughout the parks and resorts.
Mobile Food & Beverage Order can be completed using a credit, debit, or gift card linked to My Disney Experience. I love all of the convenient, contact-free payment options available these days!
I hope this helps understand some of the new ways of doing business these days in the Most Magical Place on Earth. Have a fantastic winter getaway, and be sure to check the
Disney Parks Blog as your adventure approaches to learn about new and exciting happenings you may encounter during your visit.
See ya real soon!
