Welcome to planDisney, Bethany!
There are
many steps to planning and executing a Walt Disney World Resort vacation and planDisney panelists are here to support you before, during, and after your park days.
Each Guest over the age of three requires
valid admission, a
theme park reservation, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) for theme park entry. Valid admission must be linked to an individual's My Disney Experience account or account profile before a theme park reservation can be made. I recommend that theme park reservations be made at least one month in advance as
availability does fill up.
The process of linking a ticket
online requires you to enter the Will Call Confirmation Number or Ticket ID Number. In the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can link a ticket by using your camera to capture a ticket's barcode or QR code, tapping to scan a MagicBand or ticket, or manually entering a Ticket ID Number. Once a ticket is linked in My Disney Experience, it cannot be unlinked, though wholly unused tickets can be reassigned to another member of your Family & Friends List.
It's important to connect with all members of your traveling party as
Family & Friends in My Disney Experience, ideally before you arrive. Adding someone to your
Family & Friends List allows you to view and make plans for each other. Specifically, you can link tickets, make theme park reservations, purchase
Disney Genie+ service, and book Lightning Lane reservations for each other. You can also view each other's Disney PhotoPass images as personal setting preferences allow. Today I'm super proud, and perhaps a little jealous, of one of my friends that is running the Disney Princess Half Marathon. In the "My Day" tab of the My Disney Experience app, I see she's purchased Disney Genie+ service and has dinner reservations at California Grill. On my Family & Friends List, she appears under "My Other Friends and Family" instead of "We're Planning Together" because we're not currently planning a trip together. Your reservations and other vacation entitlements dictate your planning party as opposed to who links a person's tickets.
All this to say, Bethany, I recommend linking what can be linked and connecting with Family & Friends before your first park day, if possible. Should you require technical assistance while in the parks, Cast Members stationed under big, blue umbrellas are helpful members of the
Guest Experience Team and are more than happy to assist.
