Can I link a separate gift card to my daughter's magic band account ? So She can make purchases with out it going on the general account.

    Hi Jenny!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Are you starting to pack for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation? You're visiting just in time for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival!

My favorite included perk of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is that your MagicBand is able to make purchases all over Walt Disney World Resort. Anyone can buy a MagicBand, but only guests of a Disney Resort Hotel can use their bands for easily charging snacks, souvenirs and spa treatments! MagicBands can only be linked to traditional credit and debit cards. However, I do have two work-arounds for you.

Each guest can have their own charging account split from the main hotel reservation set to just their MagicBand. These side accounts will still need to be linked to a credit or debit card, and each separate account will have it's own pre-authorization hold charge. You could link your card to her band, and your daughter could pay down her balance with her Disney Gift Cards. As long as she has a zero balance before you all go to bed the night before your check-out day, your card will not be charged for her purchases. This can be set up at your Resort Hotel's front desk.

The other option is to keep her on the main account, and again pay down her balance before check-out at the front desk. However, as a precaution from having too much fun, you can place a daily spending limit on her individual band. Your front desk will be more than happy to assist you with this.

I hope this helped, Jenny, and We'll See You Real Soon!
