Hey there, Kathleen! Thanks for coming back to planDisney with another question. I’m excited to see you’ll be back at the Happiest Place on Earth very soon!
The good news is, multiple Guests can link
tickets to their Disneyland account, which makes it easier to manage logistics during your visit. The easiest way to link tickets is through the
Disneyland mobile app.
Once you and other Guests in your party are physically together, everyone should open the
Disneyland mobile app and go to Tickets and Passes. Each of you should see your own ticket and others you purchased. If you want to link someone else’s ticket not currently linked to your account, click the “+” in the upper right corner, select Link Tickets & Passes, and scan the ticket from their phone directly. In other words, you can scan from phone to phone using the app.
One major benefit of having everyone linked is you can purchase and use
Disney Genie+ together. This way one Guest can make a
Lightning Lane reservation for the entire party at once, securing the same return window. You also have the option to select certain Guests, if only some want to use a Lightning Lane together for an attraction. Having a few people in your party with all the tickets linked helps when you might be splitting up at the parks or wanting to experience different things. For instance, when we went in a group, the younger Mouseketeers decided to split off from the grownups for a few hours, and they were able to make their own Lightning Lane selections using their phones/apps independent from us.
Extra tip, in case you're traveling with any children under 18 - they can create their own Disneyland account using a valid email address, which will enable them to use most features in the Disneyland mobile app. They can’t associate a credit card to their account for in-app purchases, but as a workaround, you can purchase a Disney Gift Card and associate it to their account.
By the way, the latest
planDisney Podcast episode just dropped last week and it’s full of tips for Disneyland Resort! Have a watch or listen if you get a chance.
Wishing you a magical visit, Kathleen!
