Can I link a prepaid Vanilla Visa Gift Card to my MagicBand?

Hey there, Shawnee! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m sure you’re excited for your upcoming Walt Disney World adventure. All the rides, all the shows, all the dining and shopping. There is a magical experience awaiting everyone at the Vacation Kingdom of the World!

It’s not possible to directly connect a form of payment—including a gift card—to your MagicBand. If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, then your MagicBand can be connected to your hotel room and the credit card on file, but purchases made with your MagicBand are not immediately processed. You can use a gift card or other form of payment to pay off charges to your folio each day or before you check out. Just visit the front desk of your hotel and a friendly Cast Member will be able to assist you.

You can find a list of your charges through the My Disney Experience mobile app. Tap the menu icon on the bottom right of your screen (the three lines) and then select Hotel Reservations underneath the My Visit heading. Select the hotel reservation you’d like to see (if you have more than one), and you’ll find a View Charges button on that page. You can also get a list of charges from your hotel front desk.

It looks like your visit will overlap with the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. You won’t want to miss the special food offerings, artful activities, and the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. I'm especially interested in visiting "Once Upon A Stage: The Magic of Disney on Broadway," an exhibit at CommuniCore Hall with real props and costumes from Disney stage productions.

I hope this information helps with your vacation planning, Shawnee. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have additional questions. Our knowledgeable panelists are always happy to help!

    Magical travels!
