MagicBand to your
My Disney Experience account.
You will be happy to know that once your MagicBand or MagicBand+ is linked to your My Disney Experience account, it will remain active until you deactivate it. So if you have a MagicBand from a previous trip, you are welcome to use it again. However, if your MagicBand is over 2 years old, the battery may now be depleted. If you have one of the original MagicBands which is not rechargeable, you can check to see if it is still functioning by stopping by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel or you can try to use it at the entrance of a theme park. Some MagicBands last quite a bit longer than 2 years, so it is worth it to see if it is still working.
Alternatively, you can use
Disney MagicMobile Service on your phone at any of the touchpoints within the parks that you would normally use your MagicBand. In fact, you can use Disney MagicMobile Service and your MagicBand interchangeably. I certainly do!
One final thing that I want to mention is that
MagicBands cannot be transferred to another person. Once they are linked to your My Disney Experience account, they cannot be linked to another person's account but they can be deactivated. If your old MagicBand was purchased but never linked to your account, you can use this
Linking Tool to link your MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account.
